IAFF Local Softball Teams raise funds for MDA!

The Virginia Beach MDA Softball Teams 2000!
On the 8th through 12th of September, the Virginia Beach Fire Department IAFF Local #2924 sent three teams and approximately 42 fire fighters to Maryland to play in the 27th Annual MDA softball tournament. Two of the VBFD softball teams ended the tourney with One win and Two losses while the"A" Team won more games than they lost! This annual event is a fun filled opportunity for IAFF members from fire departments across the nation to get together to raise funds for a charity cause. All profits from the weekend activities is donated to the MDA charity. The IAFF delivered on it's
13 Million dollar goal to MDA and remains by far it's largest supporter!

Houston defeated FDNY 14-13 to win the Open Division in the 2000 tourney!

The MDA Softball tournament was a success again this year and we raised a great deal of money for a worthy cause. See you next year at the 28th Annual MDA IAFF tournament 7 September 2001!
